Just curious if anyone else has this problem.

When I try and delete an item from any storage card, it not only asks me if I'm sure... it claims the file is a system file... yes... all of them... and then when I say yes to go ahead and delete it the silly 780 tells me access was denied... but it doesn't stop there! Even though I'm told access was denied... it does actually delete the file! click refresh and the thing is gone like its supposed to be. Is there a fix for this one?? Kind of annoying to delete 200 ebooks one by one when it does this stunt!

Thanks

I know that the MP750c and (I believe) several other models had CF card patches that resolved issues like this. I had this problem with my IBM z50 machine, too, and the patch resolved it.

I just checked the NEC website, and there is a Service Pack for the MP780/880 that might resolve this problem (it doesn't specifically mention it, but...you never know).

Here's the address:

Thanks for the tip, I have tried that already though, and it didn't seem to fix the problem. I love my 780, but sometimes it makes me crazy!

and gave it a try...put a file on my cf card, used it, then deleted it, no questions, no problem.

I don't know if you tried to delete through the computer link, or drag it to the trash or what. I just held down the alt key and then clicked on it with the stylus and chose delete.
