I have some programs that come with two parts (for example a dictionary): a reader file(palm application) and a database file. The program run fine if I install both files into the internal memory. I don't have much internal memory but I have a big MS. If I try to install the database file into MS (launcher dir) and keep the reader on the internal memory, the reader can't find the data file from the MS. The program would not work either if both files are installed in MS. I have tried to install "launcher III" but it still doesn't help. Very frustrating and tech support from clie would not help me much with 3rd party programs. Help!!!!

Are you sure that you checked all the options for you program(s)? I have a dictionary, (official Sony add-on application,) which has search preferences located in OPTIONS menu.) That menu tells the program to look for the dictionary database.
Since most programs are initially installed into internal memory, that is probably the default setting at install time. If you have not already done so, check all the menus for an item which controls the search/read locations.

Sounds like the 3rd party application you're experiencing problems with doesn't support VFS -- i.e. memory sticks. Since you're running short on RAM, you may want to move both the application and its associated database file over to memory stick using something like PowerRUN. That's what I use, does the trick.

:)Thank you very much for taking your time to answer my question. It's true that my 3rd party applications don't support memory stick.
I haven't tried powerRUN yet, the program costs 15 dollars, right?. I guess it should do the trick. I have searched around and found a similar program:"Pidirect II", which helps you to install programs on MS, the trial version is free and allows you to install up to 10 files. I'm very satisfied with the program.
Thanks gain.

No problem, that's what these forums are for! :) PiDirect is another application that serves the same type of function as PowerRUN does, it's pretty popular too from what I've been reading. As long as you find something that works for you, that's what matters!
