I think my battery in my Palm V died, I didn't get to charge it over the summer, (very little use), and I noticed the battery was low, when I did charge it I picked it up to use it and it dosen't power up. Anyone else had this problem, I know it has a lithium battery but how do I get it out, I can't seem to get the case apart.

********hightech.com has step by step instruction and new/used batteries. you might also try e-bay, sometimes u can buy dead pilots (cracked screen, etc.) real cheap.

Good luck

Try this;

#1 Place on powered cradle.
#2 Hold and keep holding the power button
#3 Repentantly use a paper clip to reset the unit, do about 10 -12 times at a frequency of 1 -3 times per second.

Sometimes after it has been hibernating it takes a little to wake it up ;)

Trust me! If Chris Short says this is how you wake up a sleeping Palm V then this is how it is done. Chis is an expert on Palm V/Vx and their habits (good & bad).

I have had the troubles with my Palm V. Suddenly the poor thing does not charge the battery. Slowly use all the power and of course drop totally dead in the end.
Took a look at the gethightech.com site and tried to buy a new battery - no such luck I live in Denmark. The export site would charge 70$ - forget.
I was lucky and got a spare Palm V with a broken Glass and took the time to dismantle the palm v.
I found out that the problem was not the battery but the main board.

Now everything is just fine.
