Axim compact flash card question

i have just recently recieved an axim x5 basic, and i am tottaly new to the pocket pc world, lol, but i just ordered a 256 mb cf card from dell and it should be here in a few days, now my question is, when i get the card and install it, will it split up the memory into storage space and ram, or will it just be used for storage space, sorry for the really "noob" question lol, but any replies would be helpful

it will be storage only, not RAM
but you CAN install applications onto it if you want to.

ok thnx, so if i uninstalled all the programs that i've downloaded and reinstalled them on the card, i could push the slider over in the "memory" setting to give it more ram?, or is there another way to get more ram ?

recommend you use a SD card for your primary storage needs instead of a CF card. The Axim affords the user the flexibility of being able to use storage space while using a modem or wireless card. I use my CF slot to manage connectivity to my wireless network and store my files, pictures, music on a SD card. You will quickly find that once you insert the SD card, you rarely remove it. The CF card bay is constantly being swapped depending on the application (camera, modem, 802.11 card...etc).

yeah i just realized my mistake of getting it for the cf slot, but o well, but is there a way to increase ram? or am i just so new at this i have no idea what i'm talking about:) one of my freinds said you can get stuff to increase the ram, if so what is it?

actually after reading through old threads i think i answered my own question and finally figured out what the ram and rom is and does thnx for you help :)
