I think its time to upgrade from my sj30. I want a pda that can play mp3's as well as audible books downloaded from audible.com. Both the t2 and zire 71 are at very good prices right now. What are the advantages of the t2? I know that it has more memory. Any other advantages?

There is a 100 dollar difference between the T2 and Zire 71, if you buy them new from Amazon.
The T2 is a bit heavier, but the difference is unnoticable. As for size, the Zire 71 is a bit longer and the T2 is a bit thicker.
The Zire 71, in my opinion is a better buy because of the Camera. The T2 has the voice memo in its 'arsenal', but even if I had it, I would find little use for it. As for the Zire 71, It is very handy to have a digital camera for a lot of reasons while I am walking around.
The T2 processor is faster, but that is only "feelable" when using demanding apps.
The RAM is twice as more in the T2 than the zire 71, and that is a big point; however, I find that it is possible to live with 16 Megs.
If you have bluetooth mobile phone, then you might want to buy the T2, but I dont know much about that.
Make your decision, but I think that the T2 is not worth it.

Thanks very much for your reply abid786.
I agree that the zire 71 looks like a better deal.Do you, or anyone else, know how good the zire 71 is at playing bookfiles from audible.com? I download and listen to lots of books from their site so this is pretty important to me. Now I use an otis player to do this, but it eats batteries quickly, and so I would like to listen on my pda which I would be recharging regularly anyway. How about mp3's?
