Please answer me imediately ! ! ! That sort of demand is unlikely to get you a helpful reply. We are all Psion enthusiasts here, not Psion staff, and none of us has any obligation to give you an answer.
However, the answer is that the language is built into a ROM chip on the motherboard, so it is not possible to change the language without this being replaced.

I agree that we are a forum of good info for Psion users to be sure. To be fair though, having traveled around the world from England, to Europe and Asia---sometime folks not to familiar with English sound like they are coming off as "abrupt" but are just not sure how to express themselves in English and come across that way. And in email its even harder to express yourself to some folks.
They did say Thank you, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt that is just translation. Just one more point of view.
Thanks,
Bobbyr
i agree with the spirit of what you say bobbyr, but in this case I support Mike's reply.
It always gets my back up when a post has the subject 'need help!' rather than a precis of the problem itself; this correct and helpful format should be clear to a new poster from other posts in the same forum. Requesting an immediate reply is always superfluous - members of the community will reply as and when they can.
No disrespect to vmilos - we don't want to put someone off posting entirely - just that its sometimes necessary to make new members aware of what they can (and also what they cannot!) expect from the forums.

I'm with my fellow moderators on this one. This forum is second to none when it comes to supplying quick responses, so we do get a little irritated by an urgent demand like this.
That said, I guess that a new user may not realise that our work in this community is totally voluntary, and that we all have other jobs and commitments in "real life".
vmilos, I hope you will stay around on the forums - observe and learn what you can, and also contribute what you can for the benefit of other users. :)

Come on everybody, lighten up a little bit. This is a genuine request from somebody whose English is a bit limited:rolleyes:

I appreciate the moderators comments and they are right in that they and the members do a great service and are very responsive, unlike many other forums. And, they are all volunteers which is wonderful, but I stay with my earlier post. I think to him with limited English "immediately" means the same as "could you respond as quick as possible" or something like that. Many forums are not usually as quick and responsive as ours. I know if I went to a German or Korean site, with my limited German or Korean, I could easly say something, unintentionally insulting or sounding rude. If someone is continually demanding or rude that is different, then they need to be corrected or not allowed back on this wonderful and informative site. We can just agree to disagree, but I do agree with Plastic, we need to lighten up, this is suppose to be fun. This is my last comment on this issue.
Thanks,
bobbyr

OK, this was never meant to brew any kind of storm, and I think enough has been said, so we'll close the thread and move on.
