Hello All,
I have a Toshiba E740. I can connect to the internet without much problem. What I can't figure out is how to see other computers on my network or see my E740 from those computers. I can ping to and from without issue. I had loaded a program that did network info stuff, but it also gave me a 'NETWORK' folder in the file explorer list and it showed me and did what I wanted. When the time limit ran out I removed the program but it would not allow me to keep the 'network' folder. Is there a way to get this folder back? or is there another way to see the other connections on the network?
Thanks,
Todd

I have been searching for the answer to the same question. I just bought my 740 yesterday cannot figure out how to access my desktop via my wireless network (without adhoc). I called Toshiba and their lame support said that was outside of their scope....

I am no expert on the e740, but this is how I got the PDA to work on my networks. I had to use a 3rd party application to get the PDA to connect to other systems on my home and work netword. I purchased the application from Vieka.com. The license I bought covered FTP and Network access. It took an evening of experimenting to get everything configured, but now the e740 logs into my NT server and to my Win98 desktop, works pretty good too. For Telnet, I use Telnet Force by Ruksun Software Technologies (www.ruksun.com). Good Luck

This might help. PPC will connect to a network ( abviously you need a network connection) but it will not browse "natively" you have to know where you are going.
If you open programs and tap on File Explorer you will see 3 little icons at the bottom of the screen. The icon on the left is for the local ram, the icon in the middle is for the memory cards, the icon on the right is to connect to a network share point.
You have to know what server and what share point you want to access. And yes 3rd party software would serve you better but please know that you can access a share within PPC2002. ;)
Good luck and Happy browsing...:D

I'm really enjoying the upgrade to the e740. However, I'm a little confused with regard to accessing the 'net; which service provider is most reliable/most widely recommended? I plan to use the PDA to access the 'net while sitting in airports, etc. I haven't had any trouble connecting through my network (and downloading pages for later use), but I don't yet have a wireless service plan.
Some guidance will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks!
