I just upgraded from a palm IIIc to a new clie T615 and am terribly disappointed with the color. On the IIIc the few colors that were available were strong and vibrant. On my new T615 the colors look faded. Red looks pink and green appears almost yellowish. Changing the brightness has no effect on the weak color. If anyone out there has experience with both pdas and can let me know if my clie is broke or if the color stinks on all T615s I would appreciate it.

Yes I have them both (a 625 actually), but I appreciate them differently. Colors on the IIIc (all 4096 of them; sorry, that is all 256 of them of course) are garish (think Las Vegas), while colors on the Sony are subdued. Just compare the picture of the Parrot-birds that came with PG pocket (in 65000+ colors) to any photograph you put on the IIIc.
I suggest you live with the Sony for a week; you'll never want to go back.

Hi, New here. In fact I haven't bought a PDA yet. I'm also wondering about the color screen on th T615. I just got back from Circuit City and the difference between the T615 and the T665 was amazing. Was the back light off or is there really that much difference

There IS a difference between the two, but whether that difference is "amazing" or not is a personal choice. I've had my T615 for several months now and have had no regrets on the color.

Essentially, for some reason the backlight on the T615 is bluish - not as white as the T665 or even the earlier N710/760/610 Clies. If you turn backlight off on all these machines and view the colors in bright sunlight, you'll see they all look great.

Just like the hardware buttons, this is yet again an example of screwing up something that was working fine. The N-series hardware buttons were great; the tooling was already there - why change them to those horrible T-series bars?! Similarly, the N series color backlight was nice and white; why they went to this more bluish shade I don't know...
