I have been an avid Palm user for years, Visor Prism, Treo 90, m515(my baby), well about 4 days ago my screen broke, I am devistated without this thing. My whole life is on that thing and I used it religiously. Now I am going thru serious withdrawl without it. Luckily I hotsynced about twice a day. My question is should I next payday(13 days from now) buy the T|E or wait 5-6 weeks(dont know if I can make it) and scrimp and save then buy what I really want the T|3....?????

The E is an excellent Palm. I have only two concerns that brought me to the point of buying the T3. 1). The E's OS is not upgradable to OS 6.
2) No Universal Connector. I have lots of periphals that use the Universal connector.
If there were no accessories in my office that the T3 can use I would have over looked the OS Upgrade issue and bought the E. It is light and has a great screen with 32 mg.

Doc, thanks for your input, my only concern is that even if the T|3 is upgradable....will PalmOne release the upgrade?????????
Pdafan...I couldnt find your response on the T3 board?????

Unlike SONY and HAndSpring PAlm has always made the upgrade available. Except when the processor in the Palm was not able to work with the new OS.

no problem.
my response to you on the t3 board was to go with the
E.
personally, i think the E is a much better value. i have a t2 that
i am very happy with and thought i had to have the t3 so i
bought it. well, maybe it was just me but the darn thing made
me miserable. it crashed constantly and when i installed the
patches palm had on their website that is when the you know
what hit the fan.
i decided i didn't need the stress so i returned it and bought
the E. best thing i ever did. i find that i use it even more than
my t2 (not that fond of the slider). the screen on the E is
awesome and 32 meg of memory for the price your paying
can't be beat. i have had no problems with my E whatsoever.
so, my advice to you was to spring for the E and save yourself
200.00 and not have to scrimp and be without a palm.
one other piece of advice though is don't use the included
flip cover. it does scratch the unit. i bought the palm hardcase.
actually, i didn't buy it. right before xmas staples was offering
the case free with purchase so i got a 40.00 hardcase for
free :)
only big drawback that i can see is no universal connector
but that doesn't really apply to my use. oh and battery life
is not great but then again the t3 battery life was just as
lousy.
hope this helped you in making a decision

I second that.
The E is the best $200 I've ever spent. It is awesome. For what you get, I honestly think they are UNDERcharging for this unit. 32 mb of iternal memory, apps out the wazoo, and it plays mp3s. The only thing I think it's lacking is a voice recorder, and the lack of a universal connector is really not that big of a deal. I looked at some of the other Tungstens, like the T3 & T2, but even though they had voice recorders(I think, anyways), I know that I could not deal with the slidey thing.
Get an E!
And yeah, don't use the flip cover they give you. It's flimsy, doesn't stay shut & the stitching on the inside gave my poor defenseless E some funky scratches right on the Tungsten logo.
