I've downloaded a couple of Bibles, Korans, etc, but I cannot get into them once they are on my M125
The msg is "The application required to view this data cannot be found"
I download and install everything suggested, and I think I see the stuff is there when I run FileZ, yet I have this constant problem
Is there any one all purpose prog to read most stuff?

w/ your m125 you should have gotten a copy of palm reader, is that what you are trying to use? have you instaled a 3rd party reader?

Hi Z,
There are a substantial number of different Doc reader formats in the Palm World. To a great extent each format has its associated reader. I have provded a link below that will take you to a super two part article on Palm Doc Readers.

Just as quick note regarding Bible readers. There are a couple of really good sites to check:
1) Laridian.com
2) Olivetree.com
The Reader "MyBible" from laridian is very fast and has an excellent "find" function. If you like to follow threads in God's Word Laridian makes it easy.
OliveTree has a great site with the ability to look up verses in may translations right on their site. Their Palm options for translation are great. I have four of their translations. I have the NIV from Laridian.

I too have downloaded the Bible from Olivetree.com. I have found their website to be very user friendly, with complete and accurate instructions. In addition, they have various translations of the bible you can download for free, though the more popular ones they want some money for.
As of yet, I have not been able to purchase an expansion card. The bible and the reader take up quite a bit of space, which slows everything else down, but I hope to solve this problem in the not-to-distant future.
As the Doc said, for typical reading, your Palm should have come with a decent reader application. I have found this to be suitable for anything I would need if for.
Good luck. Let us know how it turns out, and if you need any other help.

If for some strange reason your Palm CD does not include the "Palm Reader" you can download the free version at the site below.

I guess my question is how do I use the Palm Reader
All I can see is some "Star Trek" demonstration book
That is, how do I see if a Koran or Bible or some other book will work with the Palm Reader
Thank you

As far as I know, you need to download a bible reader, which is separate from the palmreader. I don't know anything about the Koran. My suggestion is to go to olivetree, download a bible reader, and try it from there

Tuff has given you one road to getting a reader for the Olive Tree formatted Bibles. The Bible and Koran doc files you now have may be readable by the Palm Reader, but they may not.
To get the Palm Reader working on your Palm: Simply download and install to your Palm. After the HotSync go to your Home Screen and look for the Palm Reader Icon (an open book) tap and when it loads and opens you will be shown a list of Doc files that are on your Palm and are in the Palm Reader format.
If you go to Memoware.com you will be able to sort out the various documents by the reader that are needed to read them. It is a good learning site.

Roger
I guess I would like to find as near as possible a generic reader
It looks as if each company with its own products has its unique "reader"
Thank you

Palm is making an effort to havbe their reader gain some strength in the market place and they offer a PC based program to convert text files into your own Palm Read Doc files.

Thank you
I think I need to reload my Palm Reader
All I can see is a Star Trek demonstration book

If all you can see is the Star Trek demo then the other doc files on your Palm are not in the correct format for the Palm Reader. Sorry. Try Memoware.com or the Peanutpress.com location that you downloaded Palm Reader from to see if they have the books you want to read.
