Please can someone help, after numerous failed attempts at getting my Revo+ to infr red synch with my IBM think pad, I have resorted to purchasinga 'USB - Serial Adaptor' from Targus.

I have read the instructions and follwed them to the letter. But my laptop will still not synch. I have ensured that in device manager, I can see the cable (COM6) and that nothing else is using it. I have ensured that COM6 is the chosen port, but still the 2 machines will not talk to each other. The 'Cable' is selected on the Psion and both are set to 11500 or something like that. But still no joy.

I have installed the drivers for the USB port and adaptor and have also been on the web site for Targus, no joy. Can someone help me?

The fix is very simple. Purchase the one from Clove Technologies and it will work. Even though they all say they will work with most PDA's, they don't . See my post about this on several of the boards.

it is possible that you have the mystery windowns 98 syndrome (only if you are using windows 98 obviusly) where there are no visible device conflicts and you can try everything and it just won't work! i have this syndrome on my PII 266 running win98, i am however fortunate enough to have a seconed conputer to run things on.
maybe at least we can come up with a diagnosis
cheers
