Hello... as a new user I am happy to find this user's group and appreciate everyone's input. I received my IQUE for Christmas and it worked great. Then one day I plugged it into the dash mount/recharger with the IQUE powered on. The IQUE went dead. I did a reset (on the back) and all seems fine again except the turn by turn voice prompts do not function. The Que Voice works ok so I beleive the hardware is fine. Is there somewhere that the prompts may be turned off? How do I turn them back on? Any ideas will be appreciated.

On the Preferences screen, for the Que drop down selection, select Guidance. There you can set the voice prompt options.

Thanks for the sugestion. I checked the Prefereences and it is set to Guidance and Status. I beleive this is correct but still no voice. Any more ideas?

I bet you've checked, but have you looked at the audio prefs? there are many different audio settings in there..

Use your Setup CD to reinstall the voice prompts. This happened to me to and that's how I fixed it.

Some things I've learned. If you're using the car navigation kit, make sure the volume is up far enough. Don't laugh, a couple times I've thought that I lost my navigation voice only to discover that the volume was down too far.

Try another soft reset. If that doesn't fix the problem use your set up cd to reinstall the voice's.

If you have FileZ (http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&prodid=9992), you can check to make sure that you have the 119 voice files that begins with 0001.vpm and ends with 0119.vpm.

What Vectorman has suggested has worked for most everybody else with this problem.

I used the setup cd and just reinstalled everything, including software updates from Garmin's site for release 2. I am not sure which step restored the voice operation, but it works now.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. :D

But have any one expereinced a lag or no voice prompt for a turn or two? then all the suddent it's live again?
In fact one time my iQue's voice went completely silent and then all the sudden it starts to tell you all the direction that the Que has missed previously all at once?

i think mine did that once when i lost satellites for s coupel of seconds.. almost a minute.. it found them before it gave the "lost satellites" message and just spit out the turns one after another..

strange.

I agree with Vectorman. Been there, done the same, fixed it.
