Retread316 08-23-2002, 12:41 AM Just ordered one today...any suggestions for a Toshiba PDA "noob"?? parataxis 08-23-2002, 02:42 PM I just got my e310 last week and this is some stuff i've done: - installed some of microsoft's PPC power tools - can't remember the exact url but you should be able to find it at microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc. there's an expense program you can install and some extensions to the contacts software. - installed pocketGB gameboy emulator (i haven't registered yet so i can only play zelda: oracle of ages for 5 min at a time :P ) - installed macromedia flash 5 player for pocket pc. there's some cool stuff at pocketpcflash.net - if you want a nice case (the one you're going to get is horrible) there's a really nice leather one at www.pielframa.com ($60 though). i searched all day for e310 cases once and that's the best one i could find. pdabuzz.com and the-gadgeteer.com have case reviews (and tons of other cool stuff). If i think of other cool stuff i'll post it. Alex PS Oh yeah and make sure you get yourself the $50 rebate from Toshiba! I don't have the info right now but if you need it send me a message. Retread316 08-23-2002, 03:16 PM Thanks for the suggestions - I've already printed the rebate form...I found the E-310 for $299 on-line...it seems that $249 (with the rebate) is a STEAL for this machine. I found and ordered a 128MB SD card for it for $62 too... $60 seems a bit steep for a case...I've been scanning for others. nythe 08-25-2002, 02:59 PM I just got an e310 this week too and have been searching for cases. Here are some cheaper ones that have the same features as the Piel Frama: - $35 from Handheld Planet: http://handheldplanet.net/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HHP&Product_Code=4100&Category_Code=4100 - $40 from StylusCentral.com: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/styluscentralcom/ebslipfortos.html - $20 from Belkin (no SD card holders): http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=200589&pcount=&Product_Id=125897&Section.Section_Path=%2F%2FRoot%2FMobileSolutions% 2FPDAAccessories%2FCases%2F Have you seen third party stylii for the e310? I'd like a rubber-tipped one, but I haven't seen any stylii which are purported to fit it. Thanks! :) Retread316 08-25-2002, 09:26 PM https://www.shopharmony.com/secure/products.asp?Itemid=tose310 I found it through PriceGrabber: http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=581142/search=e-310/ut=d01775fd25ceebab/ http://www.pricegrabber.com Retread316 08-26-2002, 04:26 PM Thanks for the input. I've dl'd quite a bit of stuff based on reccomendations and snooping around the Internet. My E-310 should be here on Friday (30th August)...I found a 128MB SD card for $65.00 shipped too - that should give me a bit of elbow room to play with for a while too. I think I'll leave it "stock" for the first few days at least... PDA Street
