If anyone has tried this then they must be as frustrated as I am.

I used to web clip, surf, check on WAP and email using my nokia 6210 and my Palm Vx.

Now I've upgraded to an M515 and a Sony Ericsson T68i (no mean financial feat when you are South African I can tell you!)

And the problem is the buggers wont talk to each other, after hours of searching I found a plug-in on the Palm.com site (I have attached the .zip file for those who need it) which allows you to install the SET68i as a modem for the Palm, but when you dial out the Phone takes too long to respond over IR so the Palm times out.

Now I still need to get a blue tooth SD card for the palm so this may solve the problem, but surely it should work over IR as it's predecessors did?

There is an option to enter a script under prefs/network on the Palm, this may delay dial up so it works

Does anyone know this script....has anyone found it......HELP!!!

Try this script: AT&FX4X3.

Dear Dr Mud, so far as I can tell, the script you have given me is actually one of the Generic GSM Inititiation strings...in fact the best string for the Ericsson T68i is

X1EO+CM33=1;+CSCS="GSM"V1

Trust me I've run the gauntlet with this one :)

The problem, I believe, lies in the fact that the IR link takes a while to kick in with the T68i, so by the time the phone actually starts to dial (about 30 seconds) the Palm stops and tries to redial.

I think there must be a SCRIPT that one inserts in prefs/network/details/script on the Palm which will lengthen the dial up process!!

Both Palm and Ericsson seem to be very tight lipped about getting back to me...prerhaps there's some pale little Swede typing furtively away under a flickering fluroescent light, trying to come up with answewr for me!!

Lets hope the Swede's answer is less generic than mine!
Doc
PS: I too work under flickering florescent lights....I wonder if.....

hmmm...it could be that your flickering fluroescent lights actually assist the infra red link, which would explain why the same generic string has now been suggested to me by you, palm support and someone at the European Ericsson help desk!

I guess they aren't taking into account the high level of terrestrial radiation we receive in South Africa because of the ozone hole.

curioser and curioser....!

Either way I can't wait to post the final real solution to this one...even geek.com would be proud!
