Has this happened to anyone else? You check the "avoid U-Turns" preference box, but once in a while Betty ignores your admonition and insists you execute same.

So if you have avoid u-turns selected, and during a route the option is either a u-turn or go an extra 5 miles, it will have you do the u-turn. Pekkle 01-11-2004, 01:25 AM Hehehe..I thought I was the only one that have the no u-turn problem.. but I figuer if I tell my BMW that I don't want no Toll roads and it's still routing me to a Toll road from time to time, then Garmin's No-U turn really is no big deal.. :) but what rwsmith123 said sounds resonable.. but do you mind explaining why my BMW navigation take me to a toll road when there are alternative roads? :D Bokkie 01-11-2004, 02:55 AM That's the difference between a GPS and a real GPS! No discredit to BMW intended. My boss has just recently bought a BMW estate which has a GPS display. We got talking about GPS functionality and he took a look at my Q's capabilities and he was gob-smacked that such a small device could do so much more than what his BMW GPS can do. One up for the Q!:D apersson850 01-11-2004, 05:46 AM Maybe it's like with the i-Drive in the BMW 7-series? Everyone knows it can do everything, nobody can figure out how? Stymyx 01-11-2004, 09:23 AM Originally posted by Pekkle but do you mind explaining why my BMW navigation take me to a toll road when there are alternative roads? :D Well, maybe the BMW figures, "Well, if this driver can afford a BMW, certainly he can afford toll roads!" :D :D :D Sorry, just a little Beemer envy! :p Curious Cat 01-11-2004, 12:53 PM Originally posted by Stymyx Well, maybe the BMW figures, "Well, if this driver can afford a BMW, certainly he can afford toll roads!" :D :D :D Sorry, just a little Beemer envy! :p Not only was that funny but it makes sense logically. Probably it won't direct you to McDonalds either but insists on Ruth Chris's Steak House and valet parking! :D Adam Helberg 01-11-2004, 10:14 PM Originally posted by Pekkle Hehehe..I thought I was the only one that have the no u-turn problem.. but I figuer if I tell my BMW that I don't want no Toll roads and it's still routing me to a Toll road from time to time, then Garmin's No-U turn really is no big deal.. :) but what rwsmith123 said sounds resonable.. but do you mind explaining why my BMW navigation take me to a toll road when there are alternative roads? :D Betty is a high maintenance woman. She figures if you can afford to drive a BMW you can afford the tolls and save her time. Adam Robertp366 01-11-2004, 11:53 PM :D Maybe the Bimmer prefers the quiet privacy of toll roads. The exclusiveness you know; avoids brushing the unwashed public. ;) :D I should talk. I've had 7 series for 12 yrs. I've a Benz coupe now just 'cuz the Bimmers dropped their big two door. Glad to see the 6 series comming back!! BTW, if you give the vallet a Jackson with the keys, he'll usually park it right up front so you can leave easily.....:p Robert PS - does the Kitty know a wave function? Pekkle 01-11-2004, 11:56 PM Hehehe.. You guys love to pick on Bimmers.. :p Next time, I'll drive my wife's Camry and use iQue to avoid the toll road and see what iQue says.. :p Robertp366 01-12-2004, 12:02 AM Isn't that a Camry?;) Robert Pekkle 01-12-2004, 12:08 AM hehehe.. Glad that you caugh that.. :p It's changed.. :) Robertp366 01-12-2004, 12:26 AM Thanks for the easter egg Taxi avitar !! Sure, how do you get a one armed (BMW driver) out of a tree? You WAVE at him. :D :D Just kidding, I've owned one myself. PDA Street
