This unit has been really useful for long hikes:

The compact (about 4 by 8 by 1 inches) solar charger even has a Universal Palm Connector available. It has kept my Que, Nokia phone and even my iPod charged for several days. Not really high output, but on sunny days it does fine for adding power to rechargable devices when replacable batteries are not a chioce. Still use my 4 AA battery pack for most Que uses, as my supply of AA's is always carried for my headlamp anyway. Get the unit with battery charger box and you can carry rechargable AA's for everything.

BTW, the iSun puts out either 6 or 12 volt power. At 6 volts, it charges the iQue just fine - no voltage problems. But I knew that anyway as I have always used 4 AA alkalines in my batterypack with no problems.

Thanks for the report, i picked up a couple of them from e-bay for real cheap, $22 if i remember correctly. But haven't tried it yet. Where did you find the Universal Palm Connector for it? I looked at there site but it wasn't listed.

I guess i could use the cig adapter for it but then don't you have to use the 12V setting?

BTW, is this the way you charged the iPod?

Go to the linked site to find the adapter for the Universal Palm Connector. It was about $12 as I recall.

Yes, to charge the iPod I used the 12V auto adapter with my Belkin firewire auto adapter. I'll probably take a spare apart and make a direct cable/voltage controller/firewire plug that connects to the iSun two pin connector. Save a few OZ.
