Hi everybody,

Can anyone suggest a website that I can buy a new 5mx online? I have tried Psion's own site, but they do not accept order from Hong Kong. The screen of my old one has all kind of problems that I can see on this forum. Now it completely fails. It is really a pity. How come so good a unit has so bad quality. I better buy a new one as a spare before it disappears on the market.

Cheers,
Dickson

First thought is to try:

http://www.expansys.com/

As far as I know they can ship worldwide, and they certainly have an option to display pricing in Hong Kong dollars, so you may be in luck.

They are showing "estimated 28 days" at the moment for stock availability on the 5mx. They've been in that position before, and I know people who have received them in the end as promised, so here's hoping.

I want to buy one too!

You could also try Clove (http://www.clove.co.uk) who ship abroad too I think. I have actually switched my custom to them from Expansys (where possible ... they do not carry as wide a rage of products) because their customer support is better and they are genuinely nice people. Expansys used to be but I now get the feeling that they expanded too rapidly and have lost a lot of their customer-focus.

Also try www.posltd.com as I they had stock last week (new but not in retail cartons but come with the manual, PSiWin CD and cable) - very professional company too.

I am very happy with the second-hand one I bought from http://www.psionex.co.uk/ . Mine didn't come in the original box but everything was there including a new set of batteries (main & backup).

Hope that helps

Try contacting Psionshop direct by email or phone I'm sure I remember a friend who was working in Hong Kong having this trouble a while ago and once he got through to a human being instead of the automated service they came to an arrangement ok. Hope this hasent changed since we gave it back to the chinese but its worth a try.
