hai,

does anybody know, which pcmcia / cf lan-card (cable) i can use for the netbook pro? i think that the os has to provide the driver, because - as far as i know- no manufacturer makes drivers for .ce net.

greetings,

you can download a pdf file from psionteklogix site listing the tested pcmcia cards. For LAN they only have tested the linksys EC2T PCMCIA card, that card is difficult to find/buy.

Guess that there are quite some other cards (16bit) that may work like the:
3Com Megahertz 10 Mbps LAN PC Card model 3CCE589ET-AP see their site for drivers.

I'm trying to buy this card myself.

The Compact flash LAN cards are easier to buy but quite expensive, the socket 10/100 cf card costs 120 USD!

succes!

One of the few peripherals I have managed to get working on my PRO so far is the Netgear Wireless Lan Card model MA701. It is a Compact Flash format although the slow 11Mbps. I can surf the net via my Netgear Broadband Hub with it.

Most modern cards seem to work - although they aren't all autodetected. You may need to find out which chipset your card contains then look on the Microsoft CE.net site wherre they list the drivers that are available. You will find most of them in the \windows directory.

The Buffalo AirStation wireless card works without any problems, as do a couple of five year old generic pcmcia network cards. I haven't got the old Psion LanGlobal card working - but then that never worked on the old Netbook either.

I use a DELL CF W-Lan card. Just installed the CE drivers (included), put the card in the CG slot and off I went. Not too expensive and designed to run with CE.

All i (still) need is a Network tool like Pocket Lan which does not work on the Netbook Pro. Any suggestions?

Finally bought the SOCKET CF lan 10/100 card. the Netbook Pro didn't recognise it straight away, it was necessary to run the installation software provided with the card on your desktop via active sync.

Since than it works very well, used it during the past weeks while on business trip in hotelrooms.

check on my site for Avaya Silver WiFi Card Users:
When the Pro asks for the driver name type in: WLAGS46 this should get your card to fire up.
