I looked everywhere in Handheld, Internal media and Memory Stick but could not find them anywhere. kserrine 01-22-2004, 07:34 PM Use the CLIE Files utility and select "Handheld" in the upper-right corner. Choose "All databases" on the first row. (your choices are "All databases", "Creator group", and "Application") You can sort by DBname, and then look for "System ADPCM Sounds" and "System MIDI Sounds". You can add to the ADPCM sounds using the Voice Recorder. I have not figured out how to create polyphonic MIDI tunes for use and import into the System MIDI Sounds database. Hopefully, there is a way to do this because I use Datebook5+, which does not have access to the System ADPCM Sounds. (If you stumble across anything to do this, let us all know!) aha 01-23-2004, 06:08 AM OK, I found them. Thank you for your help. I copied them into my memory stick and tried to read them in my laptop using Notepad but it is obviously not the right way of reading them. Question: How can I modify the data that is in System ADPCM Sounds and System MIDI Sounds files? I would like to remove an alarm tha I have created using Voice recorder. kserrine 01-24-2004, 10:14 AM Just use the "Sound Utility" to remove any alarms. It will remove them from the System_MIDI_sounds.pdb or System_ADPCM_sounds.pdb (whichever one it is in). The "type" column on the right side of the Sound Utility display shows you which database it's in. As far as adding to those databases from an external, I'm still trying to figure that one out. With OS5, if the type ID matches the ID that the System_MIDI_sounds.pdb uses, then hotsyncing the .pdb midi file should automatically merge it into the database, but I've found that this does not always work. When I use RingtoneUtil to convert a MIDI file to a PDB file and then Hotsync, it does not automatically go into the System_MIDI_sounds.pdb like it should. I can get an external file into the System_ADPCM_sound.pdb through a bit of a complex process, but it always works. I believe I saw somewhere else in the newsgroup where somebody else figured it out and posted it. It's the same way I do it, so I guess there's no easier way that anybody's knows of yet. aha 01-24-2004, 01:57 PM >> Just use the "Sound Utility" to remove any alarms. << Yes, I just found out today on the train, while playing with my UX and I was going to post it tonight but you beat me. Thank you again for your help. PDA Street
