Hi,
TIA for any help you can give.
I own a Palm Professional.
One month ago I started receiving this error, today when I tried to connect my Palm Pilot to my PC:
"Error: Attempted initialization of an unnamed module." Appeared.
If you have an idea on how to help, please contact me at:
mike@mikeasch.com
Thanks again.

What software do you have on it? Anything recently installed?
On the PC, look in the Backup directory to see if anything looks out of place.
What OS are you running?
The PalmPro was my first PDA.

Hi JohnKes,
Thanks for your quick reponse.
As to the answers to your questions;

This is been going on for 1 month.
Wife had installed a post-it lite. I just deleted it using add/remove programs and rebouted. That did not change the problem, still getting the same error messages.
3) Back of directory
Windows 98 does not have.
4) What OS running?

I did not find much at kb.palmone.com
The closest I found was:
"If you receive a "Compile Error in Hidden Module: Autoroutines" message when launching Microsoft Excel in Windows 95, first try reinstalling your Palm(tm) Desktop software.* If this does not work, find and remove the file c:\Expreprt.exe. Then reinstall the Palm Desktop. *NOTE: Make sure you are using version 2.01 or higher."
If you still have the Palm CD, you can try uninstalling then re-installing Palm Desktop. Use the Windows98 Find File to look for a directory called Backup. There is also a directory where your AddressBook and DateBook data are stored. Make a copy of all that before you uninstall. When you re-install, the Desktop should be able to find everything, but it is always reassuring to have a copy somewhere else.
Are you syncing to Outlook or AvantGo at all?

The indications are that this is an incompatibility with the newer version of Word. I finally tried a basic installation (no Excel macro, no Word macro) and the problem disappeared. So back to my old favourite Palm Desktop 2.0
