Whenever I check running problems ActiveSync is always running. How do I shut it off and only run it when syncing to my PC???

One way is to use KillSync, which can be reviewed here: http://www.cewindows.net/applications/killsync.htm

Hope this helps.

I tried the KillSync function from my PC when I was finished synching but I found Active Sync in running programs an hour later. I was looking for something I would download to my pocket pc.... Thanks for the suggestion, maybe I'll try it again...

I got a copy of StartupCop PRO from PC Magazine. The link is:

http://www.pcmag.com/category2/0,4148,23,00.asp

After disabling wcescomm.exe, the ActiveSync Connection Manager, I can run ActiveSync just when I want to. I've been running this way for about a month, no problems.

StartupCop's function is to examine all programs that load when you boot up. I used it to disable many that I run when and if I need them.

Try changing your ActiveSync Options Schedule's setting on your pocketpc from "continuously" synchronize to "manually" synchronize. To close it down immediately do a soft reset or close it through Settings-Memory-Running Programs.

All you have to do is go to settings/memory/running programs/stop all.
Activesync opens when ever you sync. This is the only way to shut it down to save ram spare a soft reset. BTW, you should soft reset every day or so. It really helps.
