Default alarm on Outlook synch'd entries

Folks,

I synchronise diary entries from Outlook to my Psion Revo and vice versa. With Outlook originated entries the alarm default of "Signal" which is relatively discreet is replaced with "Chimes" which is noisy and annoying - "Chimes" was previously my default - what was I thinking?

How can I get the Psion Revo default to engage? Obviously I have tried to re-confirm the new default several times. Psiwin doesn't appear to have a setting to control this and Outlook only covers its own alarms (which I don't want to use). Has anyone solved this?

(No, I still have not found a way to change this, but live with Chimes instead, with thanks to AlarmsPlus which silences after several seconds...)

How about taking a sound that you like and renaming it "chimes", overwriting the annoying chime sound? Have not tried this yet, but have added other alarm sounds to the pulldown list. Not sure if the original sounds are in ROM or on "Z:drive"

Pretty sure this is a non-starter. When you add a custom alarm it goes into C:\System\Alarms, whereas the inbuilt ones are in Z. Curiously, only Church Bell, Fanfare and Soft bells show up in there on mine, (same on my netBook) no sign of Chimes at all. I think it must be well in the depths and unassailable!

Obviously the alarms in Z are read-only and can't be renamed or modified.
