On Garmin's web page for iQue 3600 software updates, there now appears a new option to receive e-mail from Garmin when updates are available. Seems like they were listening to suggestions made here. However, the link did not work when I tried it. I copied the url as it appeared (below).

All of www.garmin.com is down as of Saturday 0700 ET.

Although the Garmin site is back up this link is still not working.
