I have a Compaq 3835 and a new sandisk SD 256MB card.

When I insert the card into the slot, my screen fades and everything on the ram is deleted and the unit is reset. I then have to go through and reset everything.

It will not reset if the card is in the slot, it must be removed before it will boot up again.

Any ideas?? I also got a card reader with the card for free, and I can read and write to the card without problems.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Andy

I have seen and heard from many about problems with San Disk SD cards. Most have been offered new cards by San Disk but almost all have returned them for their monay back.

There's a topic all about the San Disk Issues on the Toshiba section of this forum. It seems there is an issue here andit is probably best to stay away from them till they get the QA up a bit.

Update!

Took back my ipaq to bestbuy and swapped it for a new one.

It was definately the unit. The tech guy said that inserting and removing the card felt rough, it actually got stuck the last time he tried it.

Their test memory card also got stuck.

Tried the card on a new ipaq and viola everything works fine.

So it was the unit and not the card.

I hope i dont continue to have problems, because Im loving mobile computing.

Thanks for the help!
