Increase volume of Palm

My Supervisor has a Palm VIIx and is wanting to make the alarms louder, he is hard of hearing. I have adjusted the volume all they way up and changed to different sounds, but he still cannot here the alarms. I am looking for any suggestions that may help.

The piezo electric speaker in the Palm III series is very faint, The IIIc and VII are really weak. The Palm V/Vx was the first Palm to have any significant volume. TRG, now HandEra made an effort to offer a really loud speaker for alarms.

At one time, a company made a Tail Light for the III series that would flash an alarm. Sadly I have lost the name of the company and the product name.

Now I think we may get creative and try to setup a peizo speaker that attaches to the Palm just like the talelight.

Changing out the internal speaker should not be major surgery. Handera did it on their conversion of the Palm IIIxe units.
