Well Hello. Looks like I will get things going somewhat. Please respond to this post or start new posts to get this forum going. There doesn't seem to be any active forums anywhere on the web for Smartphones. Mostly just PDA's. Thats the thing isnt it. We want PDA's built into our cellphones. I want to be able to surf the web and talk on the phone with the same device.

If anyone has one of these please respond with your thoughts on how you like it and compare it to other makes and models. I and everyone else will greatly benefit from this forum. Below is a list of features I would like to have on a Smart Phone. See, I travel around Phoenix AZ alot going to auctions, state sales, yard sales, malls and such. I need to be able to look up a product on Ebay for pricing and value. Need to research product litature using Google. Also of course have a phone and messaging system to be able to respond to web business emails and sales.

THe features below Im looking for in the next best SmartPhone that should be arriving to the US anytime now. MDA-II, I-900, Nokia 620, etc...

Large screen
64k colors
Upgradable memory and OS
Keyboard
Scroll wheel
Windows Mobile 2003
T-Mobile or Sprint only. AT&T at $70 unlimited is nuts.
Don't know about Verizon.

Does anyone have a recomendation to what phones to look into? Which to wait for thats coming out? What is available now?
Help is greatly appreciated! :)

Hi,
I have a Motorola MPx200. It is a great phone, no dropped calls in the Detroit metro area. I have ATT wireless service. The internet speed sucks and go to their web site, you will not believe the price of internet service. The first week I had it, I ran up 40Mb of use in one day conected to a laptop. Figure that bill at 1 cent per Kb. I would have choosen Sprint with a Sanyo phone if I could do it again. You have unlimited internet access for $15.00 a month. The MPx200 needs bluetooth and a better joy stick (way to small) also the Sanyo has a camera / video recorder and a better display. Hope I helped.

Thank you for the reply. Im curious what kind of performance I can expect surfing the internet. Specifically, searching an item on Ebay. Example: CRT Projector
See what projectors are selling today. Im curious how fast it will come up. Also, you mentioned you have AT&T. Isnt that suppose to be EDGE network? And isn't that Motorola phone your using an EDGE phone? If so your suppose to get speeds up to 100mps. I know that Sprint has it but T-Mobile is still yet to get it.

I found a few phones that look interesting.
XDA/T-Mobile/O2 (I don't know who makes this)
Nokia 7700
Samsung SGH-i700
Sony Ericsson P900
Handspring Treo 610
Nokia 9290
Nokia 9210

Anyone using these?

Although the following are not smartphones (they are Pocket PC Phones) I think they are the best to date:

XDA/T-Mobile/O2 Siemens SX56
Samsung SGH-i700

The MPX 200 isn't Edge enabled.

Hi, I've got a O2 XPhone. It works fine and does almost everything that I need. I switched from a Treo 270 to this so what I missed is the ability to write directly onto the screen. The one glitch is that the phone can hang if too many applications are run concurrently. Surfing is easy and the colors on the screen are really good. One big drawback is that the phone function does not include Group SMS. Hopefully the makers will get a software patch out soon. Another flaw is that if the phone is completely reset, only the contacts and calendar can be restored, sms messages are lost. Overall, it's a great product but I still miss the ability to write so I guess that I'll go back to a Treo next time I change.

I have the Samsung i600.

It runs Smartphone 2002, and sometime in the future it will get the upgrade to Smartphone 2003.

(And sometime in the future we will land men on mars.)
