Hi folks - with wifi just starting to take off in Australia - is there any way to use cf 802.11b wifi cards on my 5mx to access the emerging hot spots? Would I need a PCMCIA adapter - (not knowing if such things exist for the 5mx)?

Cheers
Jerry

Also, of course, the CF slot in the 5mx only supports memory cards, it doesn't support other CF devices.

The only Psion to support WiFi is the netBook (and the Malaybook which is only a variant afterall).

Even the Psion7 won't really do it (although there are some very buggy alpha release ethernet drivers for the Series7).

WiFi on Psion = netBook. End of story.

Thanks guys - I guess I'll stick to dialup on the travel modem or upload from the CF card via my mac - but certainly something for the next gen psion eh? (along with USB port)

Cheers

And the NetPad. Incidetnally Davis Lowe appears to have 'sourced' from Second Hand NetPads from somewhere.

And the NetBook Pro (not EPOC).

And to be really pedantic the 7Book. Must be different to the Netbook because PDAStreet has a separate forum for the 7Book;-)

As I'm certain you know, some 7Books are able to support WiFi and others not, depending upon the original version of the S7 before its upgrade. This sort of issue is one of the reasons for the 7Book having its own section of the forum.
