OK here is my situation,

I have a palm 515, the other day i had to do a soft reset because of battery problems. It worked problem solved. Now, I dont know if because of that or because of something else I cannot sync my 515. I am using the USB cradel.

When I put the palm on the cradel it charges ok and if I hit the sync button the palm attempts to sync but never makes it to the second of the three sync icons on the PDA. On my desktop the sync software never starts, and eventually the PDA cancells and tells me to check my settings.

My sync icon is in the tray and has the USB connect checked. My palm desktop works ok as far as I can tell except that I cannot sync.

In testing my hardware I went to another computer and installed the software there and it will not sync there either. In the device manager there are no problems listed in either computer.

I need help.

DOES ANYONE have advise about how to get this thing to sync?????

Make sure the contacts on your handheld and cradle are clean. I went nuts for a couple of evenings with a similar problem with my m125 (and, well before that, my Visor Deluxe), and after cleaning the contacts all was well.

That may not cure the problem, but it's a good place to start.

When you are in the Palm desktop, can you open the HotSync - Custom menus and access the assorted conduits on the machine. IF NOT, then you probably have a situation where the computer is not recognizing the port (probably USB) that is being used for the Hot Sync.

ok,

My contacts are not dirty and yes I can access the "HotSync" menu option and yes I can goto "Custom" and I can change arround the option on the "Conduits"

other ideas???

thanks for these two

ok, this is what i did, I had a SUDS. i fixed it by doing a hard reset and a dot-1 and a dot-3 at the same time, i drained the little bugger dry and then started over. Now, it is working fine, the sync works and the battery seems ok.

thanks for the input.
