After 2 weeks of waiting while the eBay shipped diddled around, my Tripad finally arrived -- of course since the inattentive seller simply clipped the description off some Sharp website, the actual machine, although avertised as in "Great condition", which it basically is, is missing the serial sync cable and any manuals or CD for it.
I can download active sync 3.1 and install it on my PC, but is the serial sync cable a standard cable or is it something different?
Thanx in advance!
Bill

It's always nice to answer your own question. :-)
The cable betwen the travel dock and the PC is just a good old standard DB9 null modem cable. I dug one up and managed to get my Tripad connected, installed th Vadem service pak, the Sharp update and Plus! and some PowerToys.
The next question is how to connect it to the internet - I installed a Linksys WiFi card that had WinCE drivers and it establsihed the link but couldn't get an IP address from the router even though it knew that DHCP was "true". Is it necessary to use 2 wifi cards to extablish an ad hoc N/W and then have the "host PC" share it's internet connection?
Any help gretly appreciated!
Bill
P.S. ActiveSync 3.5 works great -- I think it's the last version that supports H/PC Pro.

Has anyone had any luck using standard 802.11b wifi cards in the Tripad? I cannot yet find the Sharp service pack but so far I cannot get this to use any cards that I have and they all work in the Clio 1050. I have two of the Tripads so I think that it is a general phenomenon and seems to be related to the hardware. I have not seen any comments about success with this so maybe those who are successful are just quiet or maybe it is some kind of incompatibility.
