DrMud 10-17-2002, 04:05 PM If you have the Original Palm Install CD that came with your Palm Vx you should browse the CD. YOu should see a folder named either Pocket Mirror or Chapura. In that folder is the file that loads PocketMirror with the conduits to Outlook. Execute that file and follow the directions. If you want the latest version of Pocket Mirror it is also free and available form the Chapura.com web site. Go to the download section and download "Standard Pocket Mirror Update". Once on your PC execute the file and follow the directions. It is very good and very easy. DrMud daniell999 10-18-2002, 11:24 PM I've looked at the original install disk and neither software folder exists. Should it have shipped with the Palm Vx? daniell999 10-19-2002, 07:03 AM I found the software buried on the disk but before installing it, I've tried for one successful hotsync with the Palm Desktop. No go. It starts and the hotsync screen flashes on my PC but after 2 seconds it vanishes and the Palm times out (see another thread on same topic from me.) Can't figure out what is wrong. The cradle is attached via serial port and contact is being made but the software keeps aborting after 1-2 seconds. DrMud 10-19-2002, 02:48 PM Check the HotSync Log on the PC. If it shows and Error 8009 then the registry is corrupted. I just had this happen on my PC. The repair will make it necessary for you to reinstll all of your third party conduits. I hope you only have Pocket Mirror; that one is easy. I had five different software conduits (counting the Outlook folders as one). The link below give the remedy for the 8009, if that is the problem. DrMud Sync Error 8009 (http://205.141.210.148/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=27,E=0000000000148936270,K=1861,Sxi=14,Case=ob j(8724)) pdcparamedic 10-22-2002, 01:55 PM I had the same question, and problem. I found the file on the disk, and ran the sync. Got the error message, uninstalled, cleaned registry and reinstalled. Did a sync. although I did not get any errors, I don't see that the Outlook and palm synced information. Outlook has the same information it had and the palm has the same information, they were not integrated. No errors, but no integration. What did I miss. I can export the address book as an excel sheet but I want it in my address book in outlook....Anywone? Thanks pdcparamedic DrMud 10-22-2002, 02:04 PM Have you looked at the last HoySync log? What does it say about the OutLook conduits? THey should all be set to "Syncronize the files." Doc DrMud 10-22-2002, 02:07 PM Not that I think this is a solution to your problem but just for general info. There is a new version of the "Standard Pocket Mirror" software available free for the downloading at chapura.com. The tech folks there are excellent and will take phone calls as well as emails. Doc daniell999 10-22-2002, 02:16 PM Have downloaded it and am using it without major issues... It's a nice freebie and it works. pdcparamedic 10-22-2002, 03:33 PM Ok, after hours of struggling with this ....... got it. simple. I was looking for the sync information to be in my outlook address book; it is not! It is ALL there, in the CONTACTS. Whew! I never would have gotten it had it not been for the information of the software on the disk (the mirrow type).....Thanks DrMud 10-22-2002, 03:58 PM Nothing feels better than giving a good prognosis to your patient: "Looks like you will live!"
