Hi,

Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can buy or prefrebaly dowload a newer version of Windows CE 2.0 (that what my Compaq 2010c has got running).

And also if anyone knows where I can buy a PC Card Type II memory card I think this expansion slot is also called PCMCIA.

Thanks to anyone.

Re O/S upgrades -- most WinCE machines had their O/S installed in ROM, but there's always teh possibility that they used flash memory. That's not all thet likely, so unless Compaq offered a ROM upgrade, WinCE 2.0 is all that you've got. Compaq'sd website isa bit tough to navigate, but it used to be very complete, so it's worth some websurfing over there.

the various PCMCIA cvard types refer to the thickness of the card. Not sure that true PCMCIA memory is all that commn, but you probably can finda compact flash to PCMCIA adapter and then use compact flash memeory in the PCMCIA slot.

The only upgrade that I'm aware of for the 2010C was just to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.11 and the ROM from 20 to 32 MB - but this is even several years old at this point.

For additional information, there are still a few sites around though:

For the Memory - I haven't seen PC Card type memory for several years - I agree with BBain, that you should look at CF Memory and use a PC Card adapter.

Hope this helps.
