Ok Cats...

Got one for ya'.
Just bought a new system, and am going to install Linux Mandrake as soon as it arrives from E-Bay. ( Good-By Bill Gates & Co !) Sick & Tired of security probs & slow times with Microsoft. Not to mention that NTFS will not dual boot without serious pissing & moaning.

Need to figure out what software I am going to need to be using to use my Sony Sl-10 with linux.. any ideas?

Also.. an alternitive to doc's to go would be great !

Hmm, not to familiar with linux, I know palm desktop works with mac. A quick search for a linux desktop on palm.com didn't turn up anything, I really don't know if you're going to find a linux compatible desktop program. On the other hand, you might find that regular palm desktop works like a charm with linux.
As for a docs to go replacement, you might try wordsmith. I have never tried it, but I hear it's quite good.
Sorry I couldn't help you more, I just don't know much about linux compatability. Cheers.

Thats Cool Rock...

Will take a look at wordsmith this evening. Should be a be a big plus..
And since you are still running big slow clunky windows.. if you want Mandrake disk(s) send me a snail-mail address & I will forward The ISO's !

( It's open source.. It's legal ! )

Hey, sounds good, and actually, I just might check out wordsmith myself, now that I'm thinking about it. Also, now that I think about it, a high percentage of developers use linux, and pdas, so I'm sure it must be compatible to some degree.
Yeah, I still use the big, bloated, monopolized, inefficient, chunky, clunky, monkey but nevertheless compatible windows atrocity, and, well, if you wouldn't mind?...

Very much appreciated. I'll look around a bit more at linux compatability, and word readers, I like docs to go, but something is still missing... Cheers!

you can use jpilot:

http://www.jpilot.org/

optionally you can use Ximian Evolution to sync your calender, to-do, and address book.

Evolution features:
http://ximian.com/products/evolution/features.html

Evolution download:
http://ximian.com/products/evolution/download.html

i use slack with gnome and it had gpilot (like jpilot) with the distro so if your using gnome as your window manager for X you might already have what you need.

Spies...

Evolution Looks like a winner. Still reading the material but looks like the perfect outlook replacement.

Where did you get to smart?:D

& Rock...

Will have that out to you shortly. Doing a bunch of research still from this end.. will forward solutions as I find them. Although I think Spies Just found The big fix. I hate when He figures it out before me. he always does that. Im such a schmuck !;)
