P800 base connector

Hi, having gained a solution to the earlier system crashes my phone suffered the only irritation I now have with the P800 is using the soft KB to type long(ish) e-Mail etc. I know 'Pocketop' drivers are now available but that KB is expensive and relatively big.
Idealy, for me, would be a way of using the Ericsson 'Chatboard' KB which pluged onto the base of many of their earlier phones but not more recent models.

So has anyone tried adapting this already and does anyone have any connection data re. the P800 connection base?
