Quickest RMA

Well, count another victim.

My IQue just stopped acquiring satellites. (Classic mode of death: doesn't show any bars at all, even where Gilsson antenna instantly aquires multiple birds. However, no warning: no discernable static shocks etc.)

My questions are:

1. what's the fastest way to get an RMA out of Garmin? I am swamped and don't have time to sit on hold to talk to a tech who'll tell me to try leaving it outside for a while.

2. what's the best way to get Garmin to pay shipping both ways. Only seems right, and others apparently have achieved this.

Suggestions, please.

Call them first thing in morning. I did this 2 days ago and got a human within 2 minutes They open at 8:00 A.M. CDT I sent mine in for the 5th time and they have paid both ways all but the first time as I didn't know better.

I mailed my iQue in Monday FedEx overnight and received a new unit that Friday (today, 2/6/04). I chose to get my RMA number via e-mail so I wouldn't have to wait on the phone. Advice: briefly but specifically list your problems in the e-mail, i.e. no satellite acquisition with internal antenna, broken power pin, etc.

Can I ask you how you got them to pay for shipping to them?
