Hey everyone, first time posting...just bought an iPaq 3845 (which is the 3835 with a CF pack and soft carrying case bundled with it, I think) at Costco today for $349.99 after the $50 mail-in rebate. Great deal, and it works super, except for Outlook.

When I launch Outlook 2002, it crashes EVERY time it starts with a message that says "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and must shut down." I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but no luck. Everything else syncs just fine, but I have no idea what is wrong.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance . . .

What hardware and operating system are you running Outlook 2002?

I'm running WIndows XP on an old Gateway with plenty of RAM (384)...any ideas? I'd like to run outlook, but if this persists I may just go with a wireless card and use the web to check email. Thanks for your help!

This problem is caused by a variety of things including device driver problems. The next time this occurs, if you see a message such as:

"To see what data this error report contains, click here."

follow the link to get additional information. You may be able to resolve the problem with the information the message provides. Or you can send it back to this forum for additional help -- I'm sure this information will be useful to all.

Also, since you're running XP, check the application log (Start -> Run -> eventvwr) for error messages.

Thanks for the tip...seems I was short a driver, but was quickly fixed. Thanks!
