I have NO IDEA why, but I have been forced to hard reset this thing about 9 times already. It's FUDGING annoying, and it's TICKING me the hell off.

I don't do anything but install programs on it. I have Voice Command, Battery Pack 2004, and Pocket Artist on it. I was having no trouble with it at all.

Then when I enter file explorer SOMETIMES, it happens randomly, the file explorer permanently malfunctions. I can open and close the FILE EXPLORER application freely, so it's not frozen. However, it displays NO folders, or files, nothing, that space is completely blank. I can se the drop down menu where it says "type", but the "my device" drop down menu doesn't work. If you tap it, it blinks as if it's going to come down, but it doesn't. I can still rn every program fine. The files and folders are ALL there when viewed through activesync. It just won't show up on file explorer. So I hard reset...and it's fine. But it happens again later. It's SO annoying.

Does ANYONE know the solution to this MENACING problem? It never happened before. WHY the hell now?

I've had it and I know exactly how you feel, I was short of smashing the PDA to peices and using a picutre of Bill Gates as an airrifle target... but anyway ---

What Ipaq do you have? On My H2210 this happened and yes I had to hard-reset it to fix the problem. My guess is that it's a virus, anyways... best thing to do is to contact Microsoft.

A suggestion is to backup all the files and subfolders of you windows folder on your PDA and copy these back when the problem occurs and see if it fixes it.

I think the problem stopped because I reinstalled a program that was on the SD card into the main memory. Maybe it was supposed to be installed on main memory only?

I have an IPAQ 1935, I find it weird that it could be a virus because I hard resetted it. Can the virus hide amongst the ROM?

Also, I used a EXCELLENT and VERY RECOMMENDED by me, tools called "STORAGE TOOLS". IT checks whatever type of memory card you have, for date, and hidden data, junk. Then you cab repair it. Like, I checked mine, and it had about 29 garbage files I couldn't see. IT revealed them and I deleted them, gaining space on my SD card. IT also fixed some errors on the SD card itself.

It also lets you defragment your card, giving you a bit more space on it.

Thanks

http://www.softwinter.com/storagetools.html

The interface is so simple and easy to use, I think you'll love it.

By the way, defragmenting can take an hour or more...so leave it in your cradle defragmenting overnight or something.

Thanks
