Elsewhere, I posted about loading some Italian maps onto my puppy. Initially, I was using the world basemap and the Tuscany maps onto my SadRisk 256 card. Response (as usual) ranged from crap to total crap. I dumped the maps from the SD card and loaded the lite basemap and the detailed maps onto the internal memory.

What a difference in performance! Refreshing the screen after zooming to different levels is smooth and continuous and is a significant magnitude faster as well. The more I look and think about my SadRisk card, the more I'm convinced that a sun-baked turd has a higher VFSMark rating.:)

It surely is time for the forum to unite and scrap these crap cards as soon as possible. (jmo)

I tried to get an official VFSMark rating on a sun-baked turd to confirm your theory but had trouble fitting it into the memory slot!

Anyone want to buy a slightly used iQue? :D

Bokkie, I always look forward to reading your posts!!

Thanks Dirkus. There's not much to do while waiting for version 3 is there?:)

Sorry to hear (again) that you've had such poor luck. I can't join your crusade though. Mine works great!

Bokkie, if you have nothing else to do, you could always try thinking about good ideas for release 4. This is the moment to give Garmin some input, since by now, they've perhaps not nailed the plan to the office floor yet.

Don't think of this (http://www.therockalltimes.co.uk/2003/08/11/satellite-navigation.html), though, since it's obviously already done.

WARNING! Don't read if you are a sensible soul, or otherwise in trouble (like being married)!
I warned you!

Great idea, Anders. I will start a new thread.
