BRT44 02-10-2004, 10:12 PM I have one in mine; check out some pictures and how I did it on this link: http://groups.msn.com/Touareg/trailerhitch.msnw Works good for me and easy to remove. BRT That's a nice way to supply images to forum participants, especially since you have the thumbnails and can add your own text. Pros and cons of using MSN for it? Spam in particular and compulsory participation in things you are uninterested in? I have a range of pics that 'd like to contribute eventually but didn't start my own web page yet. wkwalrond 02-11-2004, 05:23 AM I prefer http://www.webshots.com But to each his own.... jonasolof 02-11-2004, 05:43 AM The proof of the pudding... Just looking at a site won't tell me how it works. So give a link to some photos:) "Prefer" is a vague world. Reasons why it would be better? One important parameter is the max size pic you could post. I'm thinking of maps and high resolution photos. The MSN site allowed for at least 1600x1200 which is not bad. wkwalrond 02-11-2004, 07:12 AM Originally posted by jonasolof The proof of the pudding... One important parameter is the max size pic you could post. I'm thinking of maps and high resolution photos. The MSN site allowed for at least 1600x1200 which is not bad. You are correct. Here is a link to My Pictures (http://community.webshots.com/user/wkwalrond). The largest I have uploaded so far is 2400x1600 that I took with my Canon 300D. (Look in the G***** album). I didn't get any spam when I signed up for my free account, but it does have some pop up adds. I liked it so much that I went ahead paid for more space and it also does not send the pop ups to me anymore. Not that it was a problem with my popup blocker. When someone views your pictures they are shown thumbnails at first. When they click on a picture they want to see, it is fitted to their screen. If they want to see it full size, then they can click that picture and another window will open with the original size picture. Plus you can add your own descriptions to pictures that pop up when you leave your cursor in front of the picture. This description is also shown right below the picture. With a free account you can upload 240 photos. With a pad account it's 3000 photos. The size of the photo does not matter either way. jonasolof 02-11-2004, 07:39 AM I'll order more of that pudding:) Fine and thanks. I have dual screens so it gives me 2560x1024 pixels to view with. Impressive that you could upload so large images. Nice pics of G*****. I'll let our golden say hello. I think Holgado among others will be pleased with a site that allows for good size images since you can only attach 102 kbytes here. Is the link that you gave private or public? If suppose that you can link directly to a subfolder containing only pics that are relevant in the context of the post on this forum? wkwalrond 02-11-2004, 07:54 AM Those are my public albums. I do have private albums that I have to grant permission for people to see. Let's see if I can link a picture: test pic (http://community.webshots.com/photo/107429437/114677624tEiWJD) Okay, the trick is not to copy the properties of the picture but the URL of the page that the picture is on! jonasolof 02-11-2004, 07:57 AM Forbidden You don't have permission to access /s/image9/7/76/24/114677624tEiWJD_ph.jpg on this server. jonasolof 02-11-2004, 09:15 AM But you web shot site for public pics seems to work well enough. I can make favourits links to site with overview of folders, a specific folder and also a specific image. Sometimes it doesn't load well but that is solved by a refresh. That'll do for the purpose of posting pics to this forum. Great:) rarora 02-11-2004, 09:26 AM What are those clips that you have to keep the wire in place? those look nice, keep things looking as clean as possible. Also, which vent mount are you using? rarora 02-11-2004, 09:30 AM if you could please tell me where to get them as well, i notice you called them plastic clips in one of your other pics. BRT44 02-11-2004, 07:35 PM The clips are GB Plastic Clamps #PPC-1525UVB; can get at Home Depot or Lowes in electrical dept. If you cut off one side of the clamp the clmap will push in between dash trim pieces. I used a Garmin base from a eMap auto mount 010-10202-00 -GPScity.com - $12. Mounted with two sided auto trim tape to the inside edge of my dash tray. This base has a higher mount point than the std base mount they sell; plus for same $$ got couple of extra clip pieces and screws. When I remove the mount I can barely see the base. Hope this helps. Let's see if I can link a picture: http://community.webshots.com/s/image9/7/76/24/114677624tEiWJD_ph.jpg OT, but wkwalrond: Thank's for the link. I just put some jpeg's under "my fotos" and choose "Private Access". Question: I don't find out, what to do to give a link of "My fotos" to my freinds, so that they are able to open my fotos?? Any ideas? Joachim jonasolof 02-12-2004, 02:05 PM JOachim Once you have uploaded pictures to your album, enter it again to look at your page. Copy paste the link into a document and then when you need it take it from there This is our dog (http://community.webshots.com/photo/117881803/117882053DebfBH) waiting for me to leave the computer and go for a walk. Now, if that enlarged image was forbidden to access directly, this link (http://community.webshots.com/album/117881803WPdMzs?657) goes to my page for future iQue pics. I just copy pasted it into the http:\\ link facility on the post reply page. From that page you can also send emails with the link included. BTW, the first link was not forbidden, not to me at least jfg 02-13-2004, 12:52 AM Thank you very much! So here you can have a look an my fotos! Joachim I hope, it worked out fine!here (http://community.webshots.com/scripts/controlPanel.fcgi) jonasolof 02-13-2004, 02:58 AM Nice photo -but still mine:D jonasolof 02-13-2004, 10:35 AM Is it only me (I) that see my own photo as I click Joachim's link?
