Revo won't switch on

Hello Psion World,

my wife's Revo won't switch on. As my wife says she forgot to charge it and now when I try to charge it, only the green light goes on. Well, the red one goes on too, but only for a few seconds.

I even tried to soft reset it, but nothing happenned. It was the same when I tried hard reset. It doesn't even beep, the beast.

My wife says she hasn't dropped it or, at least, she is not aware of dropping the machine.

I wonder if it is only a batettery problem or if something, like the motherboard, has kissed us goodbye.

My guess is that the battery charge circuit has become confused. Kevin Millican has a good page of tips at http://www.millican.info/revobats.htm . You can follow his suggestions there to see if you can revice the battery. Some people have also reported success by recharging the Revo while it's in the freezer, the idea being that the thermistor doesn't oveheat before the battery is fully charged. You can try that at your own risk.:)
