Is there a pdf viewer that will work on the iQue? I downloaded Adobe's latest viewer for Palm OS and it keeps crashing my iQue

Thanks for your help.

Repligo is better than Adobe reader.

I've tried Adobe's, and it didn't crash, but that was a couple of months ago, so it may not be the most recent.

I also liked Repligo better.

I agree with Anders, mine doesn't crash and works well. The only real advantage of Adobe's viewer is that it is free.

There's a new version of Repligo around now, too.

You can look at PDF files with Documents-to-Go

Yes, if you pay the extra $20 or so for the premium version. BTW, how's it compare to using Adobe? I'm using the Standard version so I don't know.

I tried the Adobe Palm viewer and hated it. It was sooo slow. With DOcs to Go you can search large documents with ease. I keep the whole phone directory of my hospital as a pdf file within Doc toGo. I then use the DTG search to then find telephone numbers. Very fast. HAving said all this I do not have Docs to Go on my iQue! I have it on my old Clie which has a much slower processor. I only use my iQue for navigation and keep it my car.

I have 1 PDF document in my IQue word to go. The formatting for the text appears to be OK, but some of the titles and headlines seem to have errors in their formatting. I think I am supposed to be able to edit the PDF on the IQue, but I haven't been able to figure that out yet.

Looks like read only per their web site:

PDF To Go allows you to view formatted text as well as tables in PDF files on your handheld. Optimized for the Palm OS, PDF To Go strips out the graphics and brings the PDF document in an easily viewable and readable format to your handheld. PDF To Go is especially useful for documentation, specifications and other text-orientated PDF files.

Thanks. What does it take to be able to edit PDF on the computer?

The way it’s purposely designed, you are supposed to need the paid (full) version from Adobe to create and edit PDF files. There are probably some unauthorized software’s out there that may do it but not none that I know of.

I've seen freeware recently that allows you to edit pdf but have no clue to where. Google?

I just bought my first ebook.
It is a nightmare, having wasted hours wrestling with DRM to get it over to my ique on my mac.

Unless i am mistaken, and i hope i am, only Adobe Reader supports PDFs that have been encrypted with Adobe DRM.

Therefore, I am left using this Adobe Reader product which is not only cumbersome and slow, doesnt support full screen on the ique...sad.

And i dont think i have any other choices. Perhaps someone has some ideas...

I also recommend against Adobe Reader. Aside from being a bad program it installs lots of other files like acropilot and Printme. They were a little hard to delete but I finally got rid of all this junk along with Adobe Reader and now my iQue works better.

An excellent ebook reader is PalmReader Pro from Palmdigital. I have the New World Webster's Dictionary College edition on the SD card to use with it.

Well here is to get back on the PDF track ...

I have tried both the Adobe Reader for the Palm and RepliGo. Adobe Reader is free and this is where the pro's for this progrma end. Does not run full screen, documents are large, and really just includes the VERY basic functions.
RepliGo is relatively expensive, you pay for the converter (US$ 29.99), and the viewer is free, I admit, but I think it is way the best reader for PDF on the Palm (and it as well transfers Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet Pages to the RepliGo format). The conversion program creates very small documents, and on the Palm, you have the options to flow text, to zoom in and out, to rotate to landscape (for better view of embedded tables, for example), and you can even markup the text or add notes. And best of all: IT RUNS FULL SCREEN.

For me, it's well worth the money, and frankly the Adobe Reader for Palm is worth what it costs .... nothing.

With regards to e-books reading, I think Palm Reader is the way to go ... has in my opinion the largest amount of content in it's format (yes, you pay for the books, I think it's the way it is, but you find about every recent bestseller in the catalog, typically at prices below what the print version costs).

I realize this is an old thread but I just installed Adobe Reader and got the uninvited Printme files with it.
I've deleted the 4 files using Zlauncher but cannot get rid of the icon. How did you finally accomplish that. (Still relatively new to PDAs)
Thanks,

Thanks,

Try a Warm Reset - This reset is useful if an errant piece of software has your device stuck in a reset loop. Bypasses any system extensions. Once you delete the problem program, perform a soft reset to return your device to normal.
To perform, press the reset button while holding the scroll-up button. Release when the Palm Powered logo appears.

Thanks CC.
I tried to uninstall the Printme using "Uninstall" but it didn't show up in the list. I then deleted every file I could find with the same ID and name and the icon was left. If I tapped the icon, the app started, so I hadn't deleted everything.
I did the warm reset and the icon was still there but for some reason, now the app showed up in "Uninstall" and was deleted using that app. (Maybe it was a bundled install - now that I think about it, the adobe reader is not in the uninstall list either  )

Thanks again.
