All --

I've been using my i705 for several months now and I love it! One question that's been on my mind -- except for downloading some clipping applications, I've not really added much software to my i705. Is there an essential mail or Web package I should have? Thanks in advance for the advice.

You can try Eudora Internet Suite http://www.eudora.com/internetsuite/. Helpful if you're using Eudora mail, as it can sync mails between PC and Palm, but you also can send them from your device directly. And the web app can read and write Internet Explorer favourites.

mMail is another cool app: http://www.hezarts.com/ The plus version can handle SMS too.

I must say! I'll check it out this weekend and see how it looks. I have to admit I have not been thrilled with the default Web browsing on the 705. I know that Palm wants you to do Web clipping, but there are times when only browsing will do. I don't use Eudora and won't be (company is standardized on Outlook; I sync my calendar between Outlook and my Palm), but importing bookmarks would be useful as well. Thanks!

As an owner of a 705, documents to go pro is nice. You can view powerpoint now as well. Is better in color though.

Yes, I do have Documents to Go already loaded. I am not sure I am all that thrilled with it, however. Much of the time I really don't need to see a document that I already have on my desktop, but rather I need to open a document that is mailed to me, and Docs to Go doesn't handle these situations.

BUT doesn't EudoraMail also work with Outlook?

Kevin,
The full version of Docs to go(5) has the ability to read all attachments. You can send attchments from your unit as well in Word, Excel and Powerpoint. It configures easily and quickly. I'm very impressed with Docs to Go.
Iambic has a email attachment reader for $40.00 which I have yet to try.

I am not speaking of Outlook attachments; I'm talking about MultiMail attachments. I may be doing something wrong ;) but I cannot read attachments in MultiMail in anything but text formats.

Before you buy any email software take a look at what Snapper is up to down under.

A public beta of SnapperMail isn't even available. I've been around long enough to wait for a 1.1 release of a product -- if you wait for the next best thing, you'll never change!

I recently bought Blazer V2 from HandSping and use it on my Plam 515/Omnisky wireless. I find it a most impressive browser for the small screen.

Yes, I have heard good things about it as well. I don't do a lot of browsing because I get so frustrated at the slow renderings ;) but maybe that would be addressed with Blazer.

MultiMail Pro has an HTML plugin. Look on palmgear.com

I am very frustrated with MultiMail right now. My Trash folder has a corrupted database so I cannot delete any messages. So that's not exactly a huge recommendation for me. ;)

I gave MultiMail two days and then it was deleted; not my favorite. My EarthLink email software is very good with excellent attachment support. I am hoping that I'll get to be a beta tester for snappermail.

So what I should I use before Snappermail arrives? Any recommendations?

I suspect that Snapper will be similar to Aileron. If you have not looked at their product here is the yellow brick road.
