I have a Revo 16Mb. I have found that since I have synchronised it with my PC using Outlook, I get a reminder of an event and I have to clear it 7 or 8 times.
There is only one entry and I am not putting it on snooze. This only happens if i put the data into Outlook and it gets transferred to the Revo, and it doesnt matter if a time is set or not, the alarm still goes off and it it extremely annoying.

Lynne,
This not normal beahvior so there's something wrong with how Outlook is transferring data. Does this only happen with untimed events or anniversaries or only with timed appointments? What version of Outlook are you using and what version of Windows? What version of PsiWin?
As a first step, set up a new Agenda file. Set up a new Sync task to sync with this new Agenda file. Set it up so it only syncs for 10 days before and and 10 days in the future. Enter an item in Outlook of the type that gives you the multiple alarms. Set the alarm time for something like 15 minutes in the future and sync. Wait until the alarm goes off and see if you only get one alarm.
Let me know the results and then we can go from there.

Outlook version 9.0.0.2711
Windows 2000 pro
Psi Win 2.3
I haven't tried your suggestion yet Jim, I need some free time to get my head round it.

Lynne,
If the version of PsiWin is really 2.3 and not 2.3.3 then that's at least part of your problem. Version 2.3 had a multitude of problems working with Win 2k and WinXP. You need to download PsiWin 2.3.3 (you can get it at the software section here), uninstall 2.3, use the attached reg cleaner to finish the job, and then install 2.3.3. You'll find many discussions on using 2.3.3 with Win2K if you do a search here. I don't recall multiple alarms as being a bug but I wouldn't be suprised.

Lynne,
You can download Psiwin 2.3.3 here at http://www.psionplace.com/software/series5/PsiWin-1999-04-28-psion-series5.html . It's about 25 mb so it will take a while unless you have a high speed connection. Don't forget about completely uninstalling the previous version fo PsiWin including using the Registry Cleaner I attached to my last message.

I followed your instructions and have successfully deleted the old and installed the new.
Strange thing is that my Programs still show it as 3.2 and not 3.2.2! I now wonder if I had 3.2.2 all along, still, time will tell.....

I now wonder if I had 3.2.2 all along...or even 2.3.3 ;)
The shortcut in "Start > Programs > PsiWin 2.3" always just shows "2.3" but, if you open the "My Psion" window and in the menus click "Help > About PsiWin 2.3", it will display the actual version which should now be PsiWin 2.3.3 Build 149.

Yes that's exactly what I have got. I wonder if that was what I had all along. Oh well, one of those things that I will never know.;)
Now I have to see if it behaves differently. Fingers crossed.

I don't use PsiWin, but here's something that might work:
Tell PsiWin to not update your Psion's clock when it is connected. The option is a little hidden, but it is there.

I have had the alarm go off since i did the reinstall yesterday and it only went off once. So that's good news. I hope it stays that way.
Now the other thing is that in some instances I don't want alarms at all. I had some birthdays set to sound an alarm, but not all. Since I started synchronising with Outlook EVERYTHING I put into Outlook causes an alarm to sound. Even if i put one word and I don't enter a time, I still get an alarm, It runs the battery down if I dont spot it. Anyone got a clue as to how I can stop it from happening?? I only want a few birthdays to sound.

Lynne,
Your problem is in your Outlook settings. Go to Tools, Option, Preferences and untick the Default Reminder box. When you sync, Agenda is picking up these reminder settings from Outlook so this will stop a default alarm on every appointment. Unfortunately, this change won't affect existing appointments. You can either go into Agenda, Anniversaries and change the alarms for birthdays there or you can put Outlook in the Category view and then open each birthday and change the alarm setting there. If you don't use categories in Outlook, you can filter on the word "Birthday" in the list view and accomplish the same thing.
