I have managed to HotSync (see earlier thread) at last, upgraded to CSv6 and then when selecting detailed maps for the iQue noticed that many of the maps had two with the same name. Since I wanted to put as much of the British Isles on my 256Mb card as possible, and the total came to over 300Mb, I deleted from the list of maps on the right side of the page in PM the smaller of any with the same name. Now that they are loaded on the iQue, the appearence of the maps seems at least round the coast rather "blocky", as in the base map when zoomed to a large scale. Did I make a mistake?

You should have removed the old map selection first (v5), selected v6 from the drop down menu and then re-select the new GB selection again.

The drop down menu has version 5 and version 6 as alternatives, but the list of maps combines those of both versions! So I can't see, using map install in Palm Desktop, how to select only from the new version.

To start from the beginning in order to reset all selections, select v5 first and unselect the map making sure the map is clear of selections. Do the same for v6. If alls well, the list on the right should now be empty.
Now select v6 and select the map. The result of selecting the UK plus NI should produce approx. 152.2 MB

An even easier way to go, is to highlight one of the maps in the list, press Ctrl+A, then Delete.
This doesn't work with Mapinstall, only with Mapsource.
With Mapinstall, highlight the top one in the list, then scroll to the bottom, hold Shift and highlight the one at the bottom. Now press Delete.
