If you have lots of contacts to transfer, it would be more efficient to synchronize your Palm with Outlook using Pocket Mirror, and then Synchronize your father's iPAQ using ActiveSync. Before syncing your Palm, make sure you remove email, memos, tasks, and calendar from the list of items to be synchronized. You can download a trial version of Pocket Mirror from most of the major Palm download sites such as http://www.handango.com. Hope this helps.

thanx a lot dwinger... this might be a very good solution.. only they dont have trial version of the software listed anymore....
could you tell me another address? or if you have (or a friend of yours) the software could you send it to: mmc@message.hu
that would help a lot
thanks a lot for your help

I just checked at Handango's website. Sorry about that. Last time I was at the site, they had a 30 day trial version. I was not aware that they changed it to a commercial download.

PocketMirror also comes bundled with the newer Palm devices. The program is located on the installation disk. I tried my wife's Palm Vx installation cd with my old Palm III and it worked. If you run the setup program, you are given a choice between synchronizing with Palm Desktop or with Outlook. If you choose Outlook, then Pocket Mirror will install automatically. You will still need to manually remove tasks, calendar, memos, and email from the synchronizing list. There are also other programs which will synchronize the Palm with Outlook. You could try PDASync from Laplink or you could try Intellisync. Intellisync can be downloaded at http://www.pumatech.com.

Good luck!
