It sure did, you mean postin' knee high sonofagun varmint!:D
I wonder why they pulled the plug on version 3 at the last minute? They must have some sick lizards working at Garmin to pull a stunt like that.

I told you, I know why, but I'll keep that for myself. They didn't like it anymore than any of you did.

Oh Anders, Would you mind to tell us why? :D or can you please tell us how long will it be delayed approx.. :D

get back to your daily lives. chances are, once you have R3 installed, you'll just glaze over that within a few days, maybe even hours.
It's not THAT big of a deal to keep this up. Its 5.2.1R2 to 5.2.1R3. That's like waiting in line at your fav chain store to get the latest windows service pack. a few features, a few fixes. Really, you've got better things to do. Sign up for the email notification and be done with it.

For B, my own experience at work (I do similar things, just with entirely different products), I'm pretty sure it's between a quarter and a fortnight.

I have absolutly no idea why Garmin has changed the release (if in fact they have)....but can say from experience that it is not unusual to find a "show stopper" at the last minute and have to fix it and then do a full regression test to insure that nothing else is broken.
And so yes, that would mean a delay between 1 day and 2 weeks depending on the problem found and the solution and needed re-tests.
And I'd much rather that Garmin fixed it (whatever it may be) before they release the software rather than release the software and have to then turn right around and issue a patch.
And if the dog ate the source code....well, darn...it could be even longer!

I can imagine the hue and cry if Garmin released Release 3 and a problem presented itself on many iQues....people would be ripping them to shreds! Better that they get it right before they unleash it!

We will then be anxiously awaiting Release 3, Patch 1.

My iQue 3600 worked perfectly until I installed Release 2. That made the internal GPS antenna stop working.
I was hoping the Release 2 patch would help, but it didn't. I emailed Garmin and they told me to send the unit in for replacement, but you know how dependent we become on our PDA's, so I bought an external antenna from Gilsson and that works OK in the car. Still, it would be nice to have the internal antenna working again, especially while walking around sightseeing.
I'm HOPING that perhaps Release 3 will fix whatever gremlin was introduced with Release 2. If not, I guess I'll have to do the RMA thing, but I'm eagerly awaiting Release 3 to see if it will do the trick. Please, please, please!!
If Release 3 doesn't revive the internal antenna, does anybody know if I can arrange for the RMA number by calling the Canadian service depot (I'm in Ontario), or do I have to call Garmin in Kansas and wait on the phone for a half hour or more to get the RMA number before I send the unit to Quebec?

If the antenna is gone, it has nothing to do with the installaion of any particular firmware. It was just a coincidence. My antenna went the same way, in the middle of testing release 3, so there is no correlation.
Just face it and return the iQue, or live with it. You certainly want to have it fixed before you run out of warranty, of course.

I'd bet your internal antenna failure is hardware not software/firmware, so you'll have to return it. Instead of waiting on hold with Garmin tech support, just email them. The email addresses are on their website. I received a reply with RMA instructions a few hours later and sent mine in for a replacement. Very good customer service.

Skata, that was a classic. Mean, but classic.
At least you got a lot of attention with the subject line.
Glad to see that Garmin is taking care of known problems rather than having all of us encounter the problems. Whenever it is released I will be happy to get the new features.
