When trying to install the MapSource detail maps, the install program complains about a corruption in DATA2.CAB on the CD.
What are my options? Any chance of getting a copy of the Data2.cab (from MapSource v5.02 CD2). I have sent a email with details to the company i bought the IQUE from. I am trying to get this working for Monday 23 (which is looking bleak).
Can some one help me?
YES, the CDROM is working properly (it reads any other CD and can see the files on the CD in question and copy them to the hard drive)

Try copying the entire CD to a folder and running the install from there. It wouldn't hurt to clean the CD well first.

The Setup program is written to look for a CD.

You can get another CD from Garmin or you can use Virtual CD (http://www.virtualcd-online.com/) . This will allow you to copy CD to your hard drive and create drives that act exactly like the original CD.
Also sometimes when an install fails to find a file it allows you to search for the file and you could point it to your hard drive where you have copied this CAB. This may not apply to your situation. Sometimes just a thorough cleaning of the CD will let the install proceed normally.

Got it working finaly,
extracted the offending file using Windows explorer to the destination folder. Don't ask me the logic behind the fix  but it works now .... phew ....

you wouldn't happen to have a DVD/CD-RW combo drive? or laptop with combo drive? according to a tech i spoke with at Garmin, he noticed they were having problems with those setups and getting the cab file error. Seems that since the data is so compressed on the discs and the angle of the combo drives' laser, (i guess), the drive has issues reading the necesary sectors. Also I was told to clean the disc, the drive, and possibly try sharing a drive across a home network if all else fails. But never did that. I like using Daeman Tools. Works alot like Virtual CD and its free.
