IR Sync With VII?

I am using a Dell Inspiron 8200 & Palm VII and trying to sync with the IR port, it is set to Fast IR in the Inspiron's bios. I am using XP Pro. Does the VII support Fast IR?

When I click on local in HotSync (on the palm), I can't select the infrared port and it times out trying to connect. The Hotsync version is 3.0, Palm Desktop 4.1, and Palm OS v.3.2.5. (Do I need to get the OS upgraded?)

If your Palm is the "VII" and not the VIIx then there is part of your problem.

The OS is not upgradable. I have heard that you can use FlexSync to add IR HotSync'ing capability to the VII. I have not seen this product for some time.

TIger Direct was offering a Palm VIIx for I believe $46USD. Perhaps you could upgrade.
