Hello. I want to be able to send and receive emails on my 6035 using my Yahoo Mail account. I downloaded an application from the palm site ok but when I try to log in with my username and password I always get: "The requested document could not be found on this server. (404)"

I've tried it with different yahoo accounts but they always get the same error. Can anyone please help me with this?? I gotta be able to get my Yahoo mail for all my 6035 dreams to come true!!

I tried finding info on the Yahoo website but gave up. The last thing I found that seemed like it was going to be useful was them saying just to go to www.mobile.yahoo.com/home on your pda. When I do that I get an error saying "The internet site 'www.mobile.yahoo.com' could not be found.

Thanks in advance for any help at all.
Chris

I got the same problem using YahooMail web clipping applicaiton. I sent Yahoo an email about it, but no answer yet. I wonder if they even still support the service.

I don't think cja is trying to use Yahoo's POP service. I'm certainly not. I downloaded a Yahoo-branded WCA that was supposed to connect me to Yahoo Mail. That was it's only funciton. But I got the exact same message trying to connect through it: "The requested document could not be found on this server. (404)" Does that mean Yahoo still want us to buy into POP service even when using a tool Yahoo supplied?

EDIT: I'm using a Palm IIIx, OS 4.1, connected to a Kyocera QCP 3035. Verizon wireless ISP. Maybe Kyocera is the common denominator?

Although you can not use an application like Eudora to check your yahoo mail. If you have Sprint Web Service, you can use the browser, go to messages and select Yahoo! Mail. This will allow you to check and send messages on Yahoo!. However, it will also use your minutes.

Check out this site for sprint pcs wireless web: http://www2.sprintpcs.com/wireless/wwbrowsing.html

Figured it out.
No pop needed.

Just point your EudoraWeb browser to:
mobile.yahoo.com/home

Don't put www. in front or it won't work.

It's great. Simple as can be so it loads real fast!
Unfortunately you still have to sign in each time you log in but not a big deal.

cja,

You wouldn't happen to have a Palm III Connectivity Kit from Kyocera, would you? I have the serial data cable already, but I was looking for the portfolio. Kyocera still sells the one for Palm V (you can see it here (http://store.kyocera-wireless.com/product_detail.asp?sku=TXDTA00771A&discount%5Fname=KWCWEB&mscssid=P2WBRARXE8CQ9JTVSF2EPUA7S7FG1QJ6)). But I was hoping someone still had a portfolio available to hold both the 3035 phone and a Palm IIIx.

If you have that, we might need to talk ;)

It's too bad you don't have a 2035 as I have all kinds of Connectivity kits for that currently listed for next to nothing. I checked and my distributor is out of the 3035 version.
Maybe a 3035 will squeeze into the 2035 spot in the case? Not sure how the phone sizes compare.

You can check out my current items at this link. Most of the Kyocera stuff is currently on Page 2.

That Data Kit is EXACTLY the same as what I want. The description on both your info and Kyocera's website says it should fit both the 2035 & 3035. Have you experienced different?

Well, I might have to hollar at you!

yes, the data connectivity kit definately works on both models. i was referring to the palm III kits that i didn't think worked on both.

no bull, the data connectivity kit listed there is my LAST one. i've sold about 30 of them in the last month or two. i'm sure you could find it elsewhere if it sells, but if you want it i would grab it using the Ebay buy it now feature. it won't last another 24 hours before someone else snags it.

see ya

I already bidded :) I'm talking about the Palm III connectivity kit, which you've got for auction here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1394347831

That is for a Palm III, right? It also is described as being able to fit the 2035 and 3035 phones. Hope they're aren't too many bids (maybe I shoulda bought it when I had the chance). I'll keep my eye on it.

Just FYI for anyone with the problem we've been discussing:

The reason for the Error 404 might be that we're not using Palm.net service. I tried another WCA - Ticketmaster - and they gave me the same error. I realized that both of these applications require the Palm VII or other wireless-enabled Palm device that connects through Palm.net. It could be that if you're not using Palm.net servers, you can't access certain WCAs.

If that's the case, that sucks! No wonder so many people shy away from using web-clipping apps. It's probably best to just get a capable web browser and be done with it!
