Ok after 7 hours with tmobile tech support i can now go online using my cell phone as a modem. My question is: since I have the Gomadic cable, can I plug the cat5 comming from my cable modem into the cat5 end of the gomadic cable? Does anyone know how to set up the internet network & connects screen on the ique to browse the internet with the cable modem? Thanks.

I had the same question myself, and i tried everything i knew of, but it didnt work, maybe we should send them an email...it might be that its just not compatible hardware wise...post up if you hear anything...

I first bought webpro but I kept getting error messages and lock ups. I plan on returning it. I then downloaded eudora for free. That works. I still have a few problems with my phone crashing as I browse. I'm just tired of being on the phone with t-mobile so I'll call them towards the end of the week. It would be nice to get high speed with the cable modem. Hopefully we can fiqure it out.

The Gomadic "Cube" is basically using its RJ-45s as serial connectors, whereas the cable modem's RJ-45 is an Ethernet connector... not compatible in any way.

Is the mildly pricey Gomadic solution the only one you've found, so far? Though I'll admit I do like the ability to buy an alternate DTE-end cable (such as a plain serial connector for a laptop) that plugs into the same cube, as well as the ability to swap out the phone end for what I assume is the cost of shipping.

Are you otherwise happy with it?

Very, i bought it for the same reasons you mentioned. As far as i know, there is only one other cable out there that does what we want, but it is not switchable. This cable will last for a long time and thru generations of phones and pdas...hopefully. Does exactly what i want with my nextel i90c. The other cable only has a power adapter, and i cannot find it, but one of my co workers uses it with his clie and his nextel i90.
