How to play movies on E310?

I have been trying to play movies on my E310 but have had no luck. I have been using Windows Media Encoder to rip the videos to a .wmv file. I can't remember the resolution but it is what WMEncoder says is appropriate for PocketPC. Then I have been using my home PC's WM (Version 8, WInXP) to transfer to device. Now here are my issues. Most of the time WM (on PC) says that it was unable to transfer due to the PocketPC's version of WM not supporting that file type. So from there I just use file explorer and dump the movie to my SD card. When I try to open it on the E310 is says that the file is corrupt, missing, or incompatible. This is the case wether-or-not the file is on the device or the SD card.
For a little more information the E310's Windows Media will play all of my MP3's regardless of their location. What am I doing wrong?
What reslolution do most people use? What compression format?

OK. I even tried WM Encoder 9 and WM9 (Home PC) and successfully transfered a .wmv movie (Matrix Reloaded Teaser :-P) to my SD card. Would not play. So I copied it to the built in memory. Would not play. Here is what I get.
A big red "X" followed by this message:
Windows Media Player cannot find the file. You man not be connected to the netowrk, the file may have moved, or you may have encountered an inforrect file name or path.

The file plays just fine on my home pc.
Help!!?!!

I have all the star trek episodes on Pocket Divx , they take about 70meg per episode, encodeing is easy I use Virtual Dub and I play them on Pocket Divx, it is way better that Media player....
